At the end of the week of August 30th, we were notified by San Diego Parks & Rec Department that they, along with all school districts, are waiting for guidance from the State level before moving forward with youth sports leagues. Currently we remain in the same phase and therefore leagues are not able to start and we continue to be postponed. We want our kids to be able to get back on the field, so we will be holding a LIMITED SPOT CAMP for the Fall starting on October 2nd. Please see the details below.
Quarterback Station: At the QB station campers will run through a series of drills focusing on three, five, and seven step drops. While developing each drop technique, campers will throw a slant, an out, an in, a corner, and a deep routes. Coaching emphasis will be on the development of accuracy, technique, footwork, throwing motion, arm strength, etc.
Wide Receiver Station: At the WR station coaches will focus on the basic fundamentals of pass catching. Coaches will teach campers how to catch the ball properly with their hands, and as a result the receiver will catch a higher percent of their passes.
Running Back Station: At the RB station campers will run through a series of drills focusing on ball security drills, Rip N Grip drills, and bag drills. These running back drills that help train the proper footwork and agility needed to be an effective running back.
Defensive Backs Station: At the DB station, coaches will develop defenders to maintain proper position on the receiver and body control. Coaches will emphasize backpedal
Speed and Agility Station: At the speed and agility station, all campers will work on a variety of speed drills to enhance quickness for all sports. All campers will learn the proper techniques and drills that will take their speed to another level.
The Spring 2020 season is postponed until further notice, with the stay-at-home order in San Diego County extended indefinitely and Governor Newsom gradually reopening the state in phases with strict parameters. We will continue to follow up with the city and school districts regarding their plans, but we will resume play only when it is deemed safe to do so.
