Registration is now open for NFL Flag San Diego’s summer and fall 2019 leagues, and we are excited for two more installments in what has now become the largest year-round youth flag football league in California.  Our league has come a long way since first starting out with just fall and spring leagues at a single location just six short years ago in 2013.  We now offer leagues in five different locations throughout the greater San Diego area and are the largest year-round flag football league in the state.  We also offer opportunities to our youth flag football players that are simply unmatched by other leagues around the state and country, including the ability to meet and interact with NFL players as well as the chance to compete against the best youth flag football talent from throughout Southern California. 

The Summer 2019 NFL Flag San Diego League

Although kids are off school for the summer and many families plan vacations that may make it difficult to commit to participating in a summer youth sports league, we were approached by a number of parents of players in our fall and spring leagues several years who asked us about the possibility of offering summer leagues.  Given the buzz and excitement that NFL Flag San Diego and its youth flag football leagues have experienced since our inception, we were happy to agree to this request.  Although we did not know how many players to expect, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that robust demand existed for a summer youth flag football league in the greater San Diego area.  Summer 2019 will be the latest installment in that tradition. 

Although early bird registration is over for the summer 2019 season, registration is still available through June 20th at midnight. Age groups that are available for our summer leagues will Pre-K through 8th grade.  The summer season will run from the weekend of June 28 and 29th through the weekend of July 26th and 27th with a bye week the weekend of July 5th and 6th.  The championship weekend will take place on August 3rd.  Summer league play will take place at three different locations, in Poway and North County on Friday nights and then on Saturdays in San Diego/Chula Vista.  Two different practice options will be offered for coaches, parents and players to decide what works best for them: practice either one hour before each game or for one hour on a different day during the week.

The Fall 2019 NFL Flag San Diego Season

NFL Flag San Diego’s fall league is routinely among our most popular, with the highest turnout among our athletes.  Fall is a time that many people associate with football given the professional and college seasons take place then.  The 2019 NFL Flag San Diego fall league will run from September 6 - November 2 with eight weeks of regular season games followed by playoffs and then a championship weekend.  Registration for the fall league is currently open.   Although both early bird and regular registration are currently over, late registration runs through July 21st at midnight.   The fall league games will be played at four different locations: on Friday nights at our Chula Vista, North County and Poway sites, while our San Diego site will offer games on Saturdays. 

Our fall league will also offer the opportunity to participate in either our recreational division or our gold/competitive division. Each offers a different experience. Players electing the recreational division are guaranteed a minimum amount of playing time in each game that is monitored and enforced by the referees, while the gold/competitive division offers an opportunity for more experienced players to test their skills against the best competition out there.  No matter what your child’s experience or confidence/comfort level when it comes to flag football or organized sports in general, NFL Flag San Diego has an experience to match whatever your son or daughter is looking for in our fall 2019 league.  Competitive format will be offered in the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U age groups, while our recreational format will be available for our Pre-K through eighth grade age group divisions.
