NFL Flag San Diego youth athletes recently enjoyed great success on the field during the Spring League 2018 play-offs and the Super Bowl to crown the champions of the various age group divisions of the recreational and competitive divisions offered by NFL Flag San Diego in its 2018 Spring League.  The playoffs were the culmination of a hard-fought eight-week season that ended on May 11th and 12th with the teams clashing in the 2018 Spring League Playoffs and Super Bowl the weekend of May 18th - 19th.  However, regardless of whether your child ended up on a victorious team, the Pre-K through 2nd grade participants each received participation medals, while each participant on the teams that won the Super Bowl in each age group in both of our competitive and recreational divisions received Super Bowl rings.  Nevertheless, all of the participants in the 2018 Spring League were winners, regardless of whether they walked away from Escondido High School a Super Bowl champion or not.

A Recap of the Spring 2018 Season

The winners of this past weekend's Super Bowl had to sustain their winning ways through eight weeks of the regular season and then down the stiff competition in the NFL Flag San Diego playoffs before eventually making it to the Spring League Super Bowl in each age group division.

Competing before family and friends, the winners in the recreational division were Coach Herrera's Dallas Cowboys from Chula Vista in the Pre-K-Kindergarten age group, Coach Arnold's Seven60 Steelers from Oceanside in the 1st and 2nd Grade age group and Coach Raed's Atlanta Falcons from North County in the 3rd-4th Grade age group.  The 5th-6th grade recreational division had Coaches Rigo and Teddy and their Raiders from San Diego emerging victorious, while Coach Eric Olsen's Cardinals from Poway were the champions in Pool B.  Finally, in the 7th-8th Grade recreational division, Coach Kevin Johnson's Indianapolis Colts from North County were the 2018 Spring League Super Bowl champions.

In the competitive division, Coach Cella's Chargers from Poway were victorious in both the 8u and 10u age groups, while Coach Apana's Cowboys from the Inland Empire won the Super Bowl rings in the 12u and 14u age groups.

No Matter What the Result, Every Athlete that Competed in the NFL Flag San Diego 2018 Spring League Was a Winner

Although not every youth athlete that competed in NFL Flag San Diego's Spring 2018 youth flag football leagues walked away a Super Bowl champion, all of our boys and girls were winners.  No matter whether a particular team emerged victorious or not, all of the young athletes had fun competing against other youth from across Southern California as a part of the regular season playoffs and Super Bowl.  NFL Flag San Diego offers the largest youth flag football league in California, and this enables the players to interact with, and compete against, youth from across the greater San Diego area and all of Southern California.  This further allows participants to develop their flag football skills at the same time as developing friendships and leadership skills that will stick with them long after their playing days are over.
